Religion has no place in modern government

You see it on TV time and time again candidate pandering to the religious majority. I want to for once hear a candidate say that religion doesn't have any place in a modern government. The earth revolves around the sun. All of the animal species on the planet didn't live within walking distance of Noah's house. A 2000 year old Jewish zombie isn't going to grant you eternal life if you accept him as master. A talking snake didn't trick a girl who was made out of rib into eating an apple. The garden of Eden was between the Tigris an Euphrates rivers. That puts it in or near modern day Iraq. Iraq is such a paradise right.

What really gets me is you see that countries with the higher average IQs having less religion. Countries like Japan and Singapore with Average IQs over 105 are not very religious. Countries like Germany with an average IQ of 102 which is about 25% agnostic and 25% atheist. The middle easter averages an IQ of 85 points. Almost everyone there is religious. Are you seeing the general trend here? The smarter you are the less likely you are to believe in fairy tales and other bullshit.

Let's Cry About Whitney Houston

Wow there sure is a lot of people crying about Whitney Houston's death. Apparently the 25 Americans who were killed by illegal immigrants today didn't matter because they were not famous or troops in Afganistan who got shot up. Or the homeless guy who froze to death just down the street. But if you were rich and lived and awesome life and were famous and everyone loved you then it's a really big deal when you die. BULLSHIT! Stop crying about Whitney Houston already. She had her time on Earth just like everyone else. Maybe instead of crying about Whitney Houston you should ponder your own mortality for a few minutes. Who's going to remember you when you are gone? There that wasn't so bad was it.

Circumventing the Constitution

If your computer has been attacked by malware you have probably been extremely frustrated with it. These information gathering companies taking your digital fingerprint and selling it to other companies government agencies (foreign and domestic). It's funny that the constitution protects you from unwarranted search and seizure by government agencies but the government can still buy your person information from spyware companies. The government pays for this with your tax dollars (which they basically steal from you). Your government is using your money to pay people to spy on you.

On top of these companies stealing your data with spyware, these programs install themselves on your computer without your permission. They are not programmed to run optimally on your system so these programs use up a huge amount of random access memory and processor time which basically results in a denial of service attack. Let's get one thing straight. Any kind of denial of service attack is a cyber crime and will land you jail time if you get caught. But these big media corporations are getting away with it every day. The government turns a blind eye to it because they are using these companies to spy on you.

It's not the tax dollars that get to me on this one it's the money and time lost by regular people like you and me. Productive time that could be used for online bill pay, updating blogs and websites, installing scripts to process credit cards or other things that will help a small business grow on the internet. Billions of dollars are lost every year because of productivity losses do to spyware attacks. Nobody seems to care about this. Nobody seems to care that your personal information could just as easily be sold to foreign spy agencies by these media companies as they could be sold to the United States. That being said it is more than a threat to your privacy. It's a national security issue.

It's funny every few years the government will have on of these hacker or piracy witch hunt, but they never go after the people who are actually causing the most damage. The government tries to pass laws to censor the internet but they won't go after the people who are stealing your information and selling it to anyone they please.

Getting robbed on services

So I get my bill from my internet service provider. They billed me shipping for an item I had to drive to pick up and an installation fee plus some other fees. Then I called them to pay and they charged me $4 for setting up my credit card payment. I got robbed on that deal. I paid $40 more than I thought I was going to pay this month for my internet bill. On top of that my internet connection is ridiculously slow.

Hacktivists Are The New Sons of Liberty

This is a rant

I love history. There's one thing you will learn from history. People don't learn from history. I want to talk about the enlightenment period for just a few minutes. A group called the Sons of Liberty come to mind. They were likely tea smugglers. The British government had created a monopoly on the tea trade. This was a threat to the livelihood of the tea traders. They weren't going to stand for it.

This bit of revolutionary history parallels the anti-piracy laws that congress tried to pass. OK let's get one thing straight. Piracy is illegal. They didn't need to make more laws. SOPA and PIPA were about censorship plain and simple. The people buying up the media and contributing to super packs want to be able to install whomever they want into any public office. With the internet and free speech in the way it is impossible to for the power elite to have total control. They wanted to regulate the internet and communications industry. There's another rueason for this. A piece of software isn't really a physical good like a car or an apple. It's bit digits (information). Making a copy of it isn't the same as stealing a physical good because the original remains intact right where it was. People don't pirate software because they are bad people. They do it because they can't afford to buy it. If someone needs to know a software program to get hired for a job and it costs $300 that the person doesn't have available. So if someone downloads a software product that is all rights reserved copyrighted and installs it on his/her computer to learn something for a job is that morally wrong? Fuck no it isn't. Most copyright laws prevent open sharing of information and technology. That's why so many people are moving to open source software. Taking a college class to learn a piece of software just so you can get a job is stupid. You spend hundreds of dollars on classes and labs. Then have to buy an overpriced textbook. The text book industry is merchantilistic just like the tea trade was. They are creating a virtual monopoly by saying this textbook that costs $89 is the only reputable source of information and you must buy it in order to complete the course that is taught by an "expert". So basically you are only going to get the credit for the course if you PAY MONEY. These same instructors are telling you that sites like wikipedia an YouTube are not reliable sources of information. Excuse me motherfucker but last time I checked MIT had a YouTube channel and their calculus lectures were taught by a real live college professor. They were informative and more importantly they were free.

The financial elite want to keep the masses ignorant. The price of college has gone so much over the last few decades. You take out college loans to study for a degree. You spend all of the time in class and take out huge loans only to find when you graduate there are no fucking jobs to be had. The common understanding is that education will get a better job and more secure future. Yeah fucking right. You know what I see? I see a bunch of people who are only going to hire you if you are in debt. You have a nice new truck. Does that show that the person is responsible? Maybe but it more likely shows that a person is in debt and will compelled to work. Employers prefer to hire married people and their reasoning for this is that a married person is more reliable. You know what I think? I think married people are more likely to have kids to support than single people. Single people with no kids and no debts are not compelled to work in less than suitable conditions or for shit pay and are more difficult targets for economic exploitation.

Anyway back to subject at hand, piracy. Here's the thing. The record companies thought when the tape recorder came out they were going to be out of business. They were so wrong. CDRs same thing. Didn't dent them at all. Downloads yeah a bit. But we are talking about an industry that has something like a 500% profit margin. I mean they are taking something that is basically information and making an information product and selling it. Same thing with books, movies, software or anything else. Don't get me wrong. I think authors, musicians, developers, producers, and everybody else should be able to profit from their intellectual property but lets face it people who pirate anything are not doing it because they are bad people, they are doing it because they don't have money to buy the information product. Of course I'm one of those people who thinks about contributing to good of man and not making a buck above all else. To each there own. I'm not saying I don't respect copyright laws. I'm saying people need to ease up trying to squeeze every red cent out of everyone they possibly can and think about what they can contribute rather then what they can take from society.

Let's face it. When someone pirates a $100 software product from a $20 billion dollar company are they actually hurting the company? NO! That person didn't have money to buy the software in the first place. He will probably tell his friends how great the software is and some of them will buy it because of word of mouth. So really the company could be making money off the illegal downloader. People need to stop being such shortsighted greedy fucks!

And I'm going to leave you with this. Piracy isn't a Charles Manson type crime, it's not a John Dillinger type crime, it's a Robin Hood type crime. And I leave you with this. Hackers and warez people are not the devil. They are the new Sons of Liberty and SOPA and PIPA are just the government sticking their noses where they don't belong.

Disclaimer: I don't encourage illegal downloading or other illegal activities. It is up to moral compass of each individual to decide what is right and wrong. I personally do not illegally download anything. But to each their own.

Bonamichi doesn't know what's good for small businesses in Oregon

Bonamici doesn't know what's good for small businesses in Oregon. She has never signed a paycheck in her life. She claims to know her about small business because her father worked at a bank.
She supported a ban on commercial fishing in the Columbia River which would have cost Clatsop county residents millions of dollars. We fish in Oregon. My father was a commercial fisherman. We you see those shows like deadliest catch. Yeah my dad did that. That was when it was "iron men in wooden boats".
I can't see how anyone who actually lives in Oregon and actually cares about this community can support this person. She claims to understand the importance of the fishing industry but voted on a law that would ban fishing. Which is it? She obviously isn't the candidate for the job here.
The truth is Bonamichi doesn't know the importance of the fishing industry in Oregon. When my father came home from a good fishing season we could buy new school clothes and we didn't go hungry.
Her father worked at a bank. Do you think she knows what it is like to have a bad fishing season and what that means to a fisherman's family? Do you think she knows what it is like to get Christmas presents form community action? Do you think she knows what it is like to pull 200 fish from a a gillnet that have all had their bellies chomped out by seals and to not be able to do anything about it because some liberal lawmakers decided that we human who have been the seals main natural predator in north America for the last 17,000 years shouldn't be able to hunt them?
Fisherman, loggers, miners, ranchers, and fir traders built Oregon not lawyers, bankers, lobbyists, and currupt journalists. She just got a millions of dollars from Obama supporters for her campaign. She's been focusing alot of her campaign around slandering Rob Cornilles rather than highlighting all the great things she's done. That's because she hasn't done great things. She won't do great things. It will just be more of the same if she gets elected.
We don't need to have a country that is run by lobbyists. We need some real leadership not more lawyers and bankers just trading in debts and empty promises.
Suzanne Bonamichi said she thinks there should be a limit to the amount of money that candidates can spend on their campaigns but she just got millions of dollars from some Washington DC superpack to help win her campaign in Oregon. Do as I say not as I do? Get real.
